Water Research X has issued a call for papers for a Special Issue on health related viruses in natural and engineered water systems

The open access academic journal Water Research X has issued a call for papers for a forthcoming Special Issue on “health related viruses in natural and engineered water systems”.

This Special Issue is focused on the fate and modes of transmission of health related viruses in urban and natural water systems; the scope includes research and reviews related to SARS-CoV-2 but also other relevant viruses. Contributions related to the following aspects are especially solicited:

  • Virus monitoring and control in drinking water treatment and distribution, wastewater, and environmental waters;
  • Analysis of the interfaces between water/sanitation/wastewater and aerosolisation of viruses;
  • Public health and risk assessment related to viruses in water, wastewater, groundwater, and recreational waters.
